Amanda Brugel

Tessa Tessa Amanda AmandaPointe Claire is a sleepy town on the island of Montreal that is known as the West Island. This is also known as the West Island, which is frequently referred to as an independent "island" that lies west of Montreal by those unfamiliar with it includes everything east of Lachine. It is often cited as the birthplace of Amanda Brugel, but while that is true however, her time there was brief. Brugel was raised in Courtice close to Oshawa. Her first ambition was to become a professional dancer but a growth spurt meant that she outgrew the dancers she was with. The article she wrote about revealed that was published in the Toronto Star that she was 6'1" tall and wore heels. As I grew older, my male friends, I quit. Some former dancers switch to acting, and in the case of Brugel it was the nudge of an instructor in drama at high school that pushed her in the right direction. Her teacher urged her to try out for roles in the school's production. The teacher advised her to attempt to play a part in the annual school production. The result was that she was given the role of Anne of Green Gables. This led to the award of a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theater Program and earned an Associate of Fine Arts degree in 2000.In the more than 20 years that followed, Brugel has landed roles in more than 60 productions both on small and big screen, attracting the greatest notice when she won the role of Rita on the award-winning series, The Handmaid's Tale
